HOW TO USE YOUR MOBILE PHONE TO APPLY FOR JOBS ONLINE

Gone are the days when companies, establishments and recruitment agencies used to receive paper applications for job vacancies. These days, most job applications/recruitment exercises are done online.
This information might not be new to some people but my target audience is those who are not aware and mostly those who don't have a PC. I'll make you know that not owning a computer isn't a barrier to applying for jobs online.
Online job applications are majorly of two folds today-filling of online forms and sending of attached CVS through e-mail.

To start with, I recommend that you install BOLT Mobile browser on your phone. You can get it from www.boltbrowser.com . This is very efficient for uploading and sending documents, pictures etc
Firstly, we will consider filling of online forms. Some online forms don't require uploading documents like CV, scanned results and other documents. While others have a field to upload a copy of your CV in (.doc or .pdf) format and other required documents.
Browsing on the phone is a lot faster that using a PC. To upload your CV
to any online site, you first need to type your CV on a PC using Microsoft Word and save it as (.doc) i.e MsWord 97-2003 file format. Most sites accept this in place of (.docx) i.e MsWord 2007 format. They also accept Adobe (.pdf) file format. Doing this is also easy. You just need to type your document in MsWord and convert it to (pdf) using Pdf converters like Nitropdf converter.

The next step is to send the typed CV to the handset either through Bluetooth, USB cable or memory card reader. Log on to the website, access the form, fill it and initiate the upload command. The BOLT Browser will ask you if you want to "allow application to read data in gallery", press YES. Then select the folder in which you saved the document. The same applies to scanned results and certificates. I have my CV and relevant documents constantly on my phone so even though you wake me in the dead of the night, I can attach and send my documents.
For applications that require sending CVs as attachments to e-mail addresses, set the LAYOUT of the BOLT Browser to DESKTOP LAYOUT so that you can access the webversion of most e-mail sites like yahoo and gmail. You can't upload attachment with the MOBILE LAYOUT/VIEW.
Doing this really saves cost, time and stress. I remember what we all went through during the last NNPC and INEC. In Ondo Town, cyber cafè attendants collected as high as N800 just to register a person for INEC ad-hoc staff Recruitment.
I completed both my NNPC and INEC applications using my phone and printed the completed form in a Cafè. I and a friend registered like 10 persons for INEC with our phones and printed them to the amazement of the cafè attendant. Remember that due to traffic, the sites are inaccessible in the daytime, all you need to do is wake up when the traffic is low and complete your application on your phone.
Hope this was useful? If it was, endeavour to leave a comment.
